As we near the centenary of this wonderful old pub, one thing has remained the same over the past 100 years - it is a pub founded by the need of the locals to enjoy a hearty meal, wet the whistle, and share some stories!

Hotel Trentham is open for lunch every day of the week, with a wonderful Bistro Classics menu. Choose from ANY of our $22.50 Bistro Classics, and receive a complimentary glass of Scotchmans Hill "Hill" wine or bubbly, a pot of Baykers Brew beer, pot of soft drink, tea of coffee.
With eleven different menu items to choose from, including Beer Battered Fish & Chips; Salt & Pepper Squid; Nasi Goreng; and our Char Grilled Chicken Caesar, there is something for everyone!
Available Monday to Friday, from 11.30am to 2.30pm in the Bistro.

Conveniently located in the heart of town, our two story, two bedroom self-contained Villas can accommodate up to four adults in each (8 in total). Both Villas are situated adjacent to one another, making it the perfect stay for family & friends, and for business or a work conference. Hotel Trentham Villas are located approximately 100 metres from Hotel Trentham, and just 50 metres from Trenthams two main streets, including our local shops, bakeries, cafes, restaurants & wine bars, and just a short 5 minute drive to the Trentham Golf Club, Trentham Falls, and The Wombat State Forest.

A bistro for all the family, open 7 days a week for both lunch & dinner. In true 'country pub' style, we don't take bookings, and getting a table is rarely a problem. Our renowned $22.50 weekday Lunch Special includes a glass of Scotchmans Hill wine, or a pot of our local Baykers Brew beer, and with a dozen Bistro Classics to choose from, there is something for everyone. Our Bistro Mains menu is a traditional country selection - including our signature Publican's Mixed Grill!

Our Public Bar is the Town Centre of our our pub, where locals, travelers, families, and the occasional sporting legend share a familiar beer on tap, try a local wine, enjoy a cocktail, and spin a yarn or two. A public bar where you are made to feel welcome, no matter what your story is. Enjoy a quick drink before lunch or dinner, or settle in to watch a myriad of live sports on one of the many screens, and maybe have a punt on the races with a TAB conveniently located within the Public Bar area.

THE LOCALS' LOCAL
The story of this historic pub started in late 1800's, as a resting point for weary workers travelling between the major towns. In 1926 "The Hotel Trentham" was formally registered as an Inn, and provided with a licence to legally sell liquor. Post War, the pub was referred to simply as The Trentham Hotel, with a reputation as the workers pub, undergoing several extensions and refurbishments. Like many regional watering holes, the pub sat closed during the covid years. In 2024, the pub was purchased by the current owners, rebranded and refurbished, returning the pub to the town as Hotel Trentham, and importantly ensuring that High Street once again has a couple of great pubs. This year sees Hotel Trentham commemorate its centenary, with celebrations that will continue to add to the towns story, and respect the towns history.

Now all of Australia knows what we already knew... Trentham is GOLD! Trentham has been crowned one of Australia’s premier destinations, taking out Gold first as Victoria's Top Town, and now National Gold in the Tiny Tourism Town category (for towns with populations under 1,500) at Australia's Top Tourism Town Awards, announced at Parliament House in Canberra.
Trentham’s win is a testament to the strength and appeal of Victoria’s regional tourism offerings and proudly positions Trentham on the national stage. A big congratulations also to Warrnambool and Mount Beauty, recognised as Victoria’s finalists in the Top Tourism Town and Small Tourism Town categories.
