THE LOCALS' LOCAL

THE LOCALS' LOCAL

What makes a locals' local? It is a multitude of small things that make the big difference. A proper pub menu with something for everyone, a selection of familiar drinks, some great weekly specials that the family can afford (like our $25 Parma & Pot night), a pool table in a dedicated pool room to enjoy with friends, a lounge area where you can relax in the Chesterfield, fire going, wine in hand, reading one of the many books from the bookshelf, a dog friendly (and kid friendly) beer-garden with live music on Sunday afternoons, and team of staff who take pride in knowing how important the locals' local is to the community.

Hotel Trentham is located in the heart of the historical and picturesque township of Trentham. With an immediate population less than 1500 people, Trentham punches well above its weight in the hospitality game. immediately surrounding Hotel Trentham are iconic venues such as the 120 year old Red Beard Bakery with its original Dutch ovens, the meritorious Du Fermier restaurant, run by the celebrated chef Annie Smithers, the beautiful Cosmopolitan Hotel, and a truly eclectic mix of cafes, restaurants and wine bars - and of course the Trentham Bakery, which produces a truly great Steak & Pepper Pie! Hotel Trentham sits proudly in the middle of it all. A township with an amazing array of antique stores, original period buildings, an 18 hole golf course adjacent to the magnificent Trentham Falls, Victoria's highest single-drop waterfall.

PUB OPENING HOURS (subject to change):

  • SUNDAY TO THURSDAY 11am to 9pm
  • FRIDAY & SATURDAY 11am to 11pm

The original Hotel Trentham dates back to 1926, a pub built for the local potato farmers, the transient gold prospectors & and the Wombat Forest timber workers. A pub founded by the need for the locals to have a place to enjoy a hearty meal, wet the whistle, share some stories, and talk sport, with Trentham Saints Football Club (founded in 1892) one of the most competitive in the league the mainstay of conversation. Almost 100 years later, the pub has been meticulously restored to it's former glory, with a few modern touches to ensure it can service today's needs & expectations. Whilst the industries that workers who frequented Hotel Trentham have all but disappeared, the need for the locals to have a place to enjoy a hearty meal, share a drink, and catch up with friends remains the same. We guess the saying that "everything old becomes new again" is more relevant than ever here at Hotel Trentham!
